Pilates is an exercise method based on the work of Joseph Pilates. In addition to his original work we use an evidence-based approach incorporating the latest research to provide a safe, gentle, and effective method of improving strength and flexibility without the strain and risk of injury associated with other training methods.
Ann Abbott, Pilates Instructor

Ann is a certified Pilates instructor with 13 years of teaching both private and group reformer and mat classes. She has had the honor of deepening her practice by learning from multiple Pilates leaders and teachers in the Cincinnati community.
Ann discovered Pilates as a patient in Pilates-based physical therapy at Christ Hospital, after both her primary care physician and chiropractor suggested it as a way to treat chronic back pain. After the experience successfully treated her back pain, she understood the unique power of Pilates as a means to not only completely alleviate her back pain, but also as a way to achieve overall fitness, flexibility, and strength, along with benefits to mental health.
In addition to teaching Pilates, Ann serves as a director of communications and digital experience at UnitedHealthcare, leading a team that creates education in all media for health care consumers.
Ann lives in College Hill with her husband, two teenage sons and their pug/beagle mix. She also has an adult son who lives in nearby Clifton.
